Making Money As A Freelance Writer
Becoming a freelance writer is one of the best ways to be able to "work from home" (which is a dream of many - working in whatever clothes they want to wear, during whatever hours they want to work!) - but even though many people are perfectly qualified for and capable of making money as a freelance writer, many of them never achieve this goal because they have no clue how to go about doing this! Most people think of newspapers, magazines, and other journalistic-type areas of opportunity when they think of freelance writing, but not only is work in these areas scarce, but it will not pay nearly as well as the money you could make doing other things; rather than looking to write for such areas (where competition is high to boot!), look to write for small businesses or for search engine marketers - which will allow you to write for websites and blogs, and will often allow you to write whatever you want! Expanding your base of knowledge will also be important if you are wanting to make money as a freelance writer; rather than writing about the things everyone else is writing about, create an "area of expertise" - either becoming an expert in a particular field of writing, or becoming an expert on a particular topic. And even if you are focusing on a particular area of expertise in your writing (heck, even if you are writing for newspapers and magazines!), one of the most important things for any freelance writer to have an understanding of these days is the principles that govern search engine optimization, as this will help you to be far more valuable to websites and blogs than those writers who are at a complete loss as to what search engine optimization means or how they can use it to their advantage. And of course, once you have a thorough understanding of search engine optimization, you will be able to start using it on your own - and soon, you will not only be working from home, but can be working from home, for yourself!

Tips For Using SEO To Your Advantage
One of the biggest keys to modern business is search engine optimization - which, basically, means using certain words or phrases (and doing a few other tricks) that will cause your website to show up when people use such search engines as Google or Yahoo; when you are able to optimize your website for search engines, you will be able to effectively increase the chances of people showing up on your website - and of course, the more often people show up on your website, the more familiar they become with your product or service, and the more likely you are to make money as a result. One of the main things you will want to understand about SEO is exactly what sorts of keywords are likely to draw readers to your website; as you study and begin to understand the searches most likely to be conducted by Internet users, you will be able to start including these keywords on your website in an appropriate manner - and realize that the more often a word shows up in your posts and information, the more likely it is to show up in Internet searches (which, of course, means you will have to figure out how to make your web content useful and informative while also incorporating your targeted keywords!). Another thing that will be an important part of your SEO efforts will be knowing how to combine keywords effectively; oftentimes, those who search the Internet for products or services will search using a combination of words, and you will want to make sure your website contains these combinations of words so it will be more likely to turn up high in search engine results. Before you will be able to incorporate these phrases into your web content, however, you will have to know what these key phrases are, so take a bit of time to research, as this will go a long way in bumping you up in the search engine world, and bumping up your profits. Once you start understanding all the things that go into SEO and how to incorporate these things into your site, the whole process really becomes very easy, and once you start to transform your website in this way, you will begin to find that your traffic is increasing, and that your sales are rising as a result.

Different Styles of Employee Management
Managing employees can be a difficult task. Each employee has different things that motivate them. They also each respond to different management techniques. There are many different types of management styles. The buddy, Mr Cool and the micromanager are some different styles. The most well rounded of all types of managing styles is the coach, even though each type has positives and negatives. Many of the other types of managers will employ extreme management techniques, but the coach doesn't. For example Mr Cool always does what is best for them only and the micromanager picks apart every simple task. Coaches don't use either of these methods. Instead of doing what is best for them on a personal level, the coach will do what is in the best interest of the team. The coach also lets some day to day operations go unmanaged on their part. The coach gives responsibility and freedom to their employees for them to make educated choice. The way this type of manager interacts with each employee is one of their best traits. They don’t reprimand employees if a small task is failed. The coach will let this slip up go, but will use it as a coaching opportunity with the employee. This action benefits every employee on the team. Employees will have more confidence to take risks. They know that the coach will help them through a failure by teaching them why they failed and what they can do to avoid it in the future. Every employee will feel like they are important to the goal of the team, thus creating a true environment of teamwork. Coaches aren't the perfect type of manager. Their management style may not be harsh enough for some employees. Some employees simply need to be reprimanded harshly. Coaches may also fail to give credit where credit is due since they are so focused on what the team is accomplishing. In reality, the coach may be the best definitive style, but it is always a great idea to blend some management styles together to create one of your own.

How To Build Your Own Website
You might want to set up a website for any number of reasons - perhaps you have a business you are needing to promote, or perhaps you are wanting to try to make some money online with websites, or maybe you just want to have a platform from which you can share your thoughts and opinions on things - but although lots of people want to start up a website (and even though there are plenty of different reasons why they might want to do this), a lot of people end up never starting that website they want to start because they think they will have to pay someone else to do this. If you are wanting to start up a website, however, you should have no problem doing so on your own - and making it look really good - as long as you know a few specific things that will be important for helping you to get started. Deciding what sort of feel you want your website to have is the first thing you will want to do - figuring out whether you want it to appear more like a blog, or whether you would prefer for it to look more like a "website"; if you decide that you want your website to have more of a blog feel, you should look at Blogger (which is the blogging platform run by Google), and if you want to have more of a website feel on the site you are running, you should look into purchasing a domain and using a Wordpress template. After you have set up your site with Blogger or Wordpress, you will be able to choose from scores of different templates that each of these platforms provide, until you find a template that gives you exactly the look you are going for - and if you find something that is close to the look you are going for, but does not quite hit everything just right, you can learn to adjust minor things on the template yourself with just a little bit of research! And once your website is up and running, with the look you are wanting to go for, start studying up on some basic HTML - and with this final bit of information, you will be able to input content on your site and make it look exactly the way you want it to look!

Tips For Building Backlinks For Your Website
If you are hoping to boost your website's success through search engine optimization, one thing there is a very good chance you have learned is that backlinks (that is, the links from other sites that point back to your site) are among the most important SEO elements, but even understanding this, you may have left yourself imagining that there is really nothing you can do to build backlinks on your own; realize, however, that this is not at all the case! One of the best ways to build backlinks is to write articles for article sites, and to include a link in each article that points back to your site; when you do this, you will leave behind links for people to click on - which can bring traffic your way - and you will be creating backlinks with these links, and will boost your search engine ranking as a result! Taking advantage of such social media sites as Twitter, Digg, and facebook is another great way for you to build backlinks; make sure you are making it easy for people to share the content of your site with others in these areas, and you will start seeing a big difference in your search engine ranking as a result. And finally, you should be aware of the fact that you are far more likely to find that others are linking to you when you are linking to others; most people monitor where their traffic comes from, and after they have visited your site to see why you linked to them - and after they have subsequently explored some of your content - there will be a good chance they will link to you in return, thus creating a valuable backlink. When you are working on search engine optimization efforts for your website, make sure you are always being creative - realizing that there are a lot of little things you can do to help your site, and for each of these little things you do, you will move that much further ahead of your competition!

How To Aim For Success At Your Job
Most people have a strong desire to meet with success at their job, and although the motivations behind this desire may vary from person to person - after all, some people want to be successful at work because they want to prove something, others want to be successful at work because this helps them feel fulfilled, and others simply like the money that comes their way when they are successful at work - and in spite of the fact that each job is distinctly different, there are still a few basic, core principles anyone can adhere to in order to increase their chances of meeting with success at work. Most of your coworkers are focusing only on the day at hand each day when they come to work, but one of the best ways to achieve success at work (after all, success at work often boils down to "outperforming your coworkers!) is to set long-term goals, as this will take your eyes away from the mundanity of the present and will instead set your focus on the big picture, leading you to turn your eyes down the road. While a lot of people write down long-term goals - either goals for life or goals for work - very few people actually take the time to read these goals more often than, say, once per year, and this causes them to be hardly more likely to achieve their goals than someone who never wrote down their goals. But after you have written down your goals for work, you should take the time at the beginning of each day to read through these goals - and then, throughout the course of each day, you should pay attention to all the little things that, over time, will cause these goals to become a reality. And finally, one of the most important things of all when it comes to achieving success at work is that you take the time to recharge when you are away from work; it is easy to get so caught up in your pursuit of success that you fail to enjoy anything else in life, but having fun and relaxing in your free time will actually do a lot to continue leading you toward success at work!

Looking At SEO: Hiring Out Versus Going It Alone
If you have a website for your business, you probably understand how important it will be for you to boost this website's online visibility (after all, you are unlikely to get a lot of visitors to your site if no one knows that your site exists in the first place!), but while this might seem like a straightforward issue, there are a couple complications that come into play when you are trying to boost your website's profile: namely, whether it is better to do this yourself, or to hire someone else. While it would be great if there were an across-the-board answer to solve this problem, the truth is that the answer to this question will be different for every different company. SEO (which stands for "search engine optimization") is the process of causing your website to appeal to search engines - and there are actually people who are "SEO experts," and who make a living doing SEO work for different websites; the good news about hiring one such expert, of course, is that they are able to quickly carry your website to the top of search engine rankings pages, but the bad news is that they often charge an arm and a leg to do so! When you are trying to decide whether or not you should hire someone to do your SEO work, the main thing you need to determine is which is more valuable for you: your time or your money. Some people will find that it will be worth the money they save to study up on SEO themselves, and to build their website without help; on the other hand, there will be those who will lose more money in the amount of time it takes them to learn and implement all this stuff than the money they would pay someone else to do it - in which case, it is well worth hiring out! Of course, in the end, it does not so much matter how you get to the desired end result (that is, a website that ranks highly on search engines) as that you get there somehow - but with this knowledge, you can decide whether you want to get there on your own or hire someone else to help.

Dealing With Criticism At Work
It can often seem like your job is your "life" with the amount of time and energy you put into it - no matter how much effort you might put into trying to convince yourself otherwise - and because of this tendency for people to feel this way about their jobs, it can be a tough pill to swallow when they encounter what they feel is unwarranted criticism or negative feedback about their work. While dealing with criticism in an area into which you invest so much of your own time and energy can be difficult, it is also quite possible to deal with this criticism in an appropriate manner, as long as you take the proper approach. As far as "handling criticism in the workplace" goes, you will first need to realize that you should accept it when it comes your way; if your boss is giving you criticism at work, it is likely because they see something that they feel you should fix, and arguing with them is not going to make the situation any better! After you have accepted the criticism, find a place where you can be alone for a bit; in this "alone place," think about the criticism you were given, and establish whether there is anything you can take away from the things that were said. During this time, you should acknowledge to yourself the things you do well in your job, but you should also see what truth and means for learning you can take from the things that were said to you. Finally, the most important part of dealing with criticism at work is reminding yourself that - no matter how much time you spend at your job - your job is not your life, and there are things in your life that are more important than your job! When you come to this realization, it will be much easier for you to learn from criticism given to you at work, without getting weighed down by the negative aspects of the criticism in question.

How To Start A Christmas Light Business
The dream of being self-employed is something a lot of people hold onto (and with the state of the economy being what it is at the moment, being self-employed can actually be more stable than being employed by a regular job!), but one mistake people tend to make as they pursue this goal is that they end up getting locked into a specific idea of what they want to do in order to be self-employed, rather than keeping their eyes open for various opportunities; if you want to be permanently self-employed, the best thing you can do is open up various avenues for yourself - and one avenue that is especially worth pursuing (and that can be especially profitable!) is hanging Christmas lights. Before you get started, you will need to make sure you take all the preliminary steps: first off, you will need to make sure you are fully insured for the work before you get started; secondly, you will want to have plenty of Christmas lights purchased and ready to go before you start collecting customers; and thirdly, you will want yard signs that you can put in the yards of the people for whom you hang Christmas lights. Once these preliminary aspects are all taken care of, you will want to offer to do a few houses for free; even though you will make no money directly off these houses, doing a few houses for free will make you money in the long run, as you can put your yard sign in these yards and start collecting new customers. And even though the bulk of your business will be easy for you to take care of on your own, make sure you have someone who will be able to help you if you need it; after all, you might be surprised at how quickly your business booms, and you will not want to have to turn down jobs just because you failed to secure someone who could help you! You should be able to get started with your Christmas lights business with these tips in mind - which will carry you even closer to being fully self-employed in a variety of areas!

How To Become A Wedding Photographer
Although you may never have thought about this before, one thing that will be a great way to make money – especially if you enjoy photography – will be working as a wedding photographer, as wedding photographers are constantly in demand, can charge relatively high prices, and can spend just a couple days a week working, after which they can work from home the rest of the week, editing the pictures they have taken and booking more weddings for future weekends; of course, the startup costs for starting a wedding photography business can be a bit high, as you will need a good computer, good software, and a good camera, which means that if you fail to stir up any business, being a wedding photographer can also be nothing more than a money pit! In order to ensure that your wedding photography venture is profitable, the first thing you will want to make sure of is that you know what you are doing, not just as far as pictures are concerned, but as far as wedding pictures are concerned; even though working for a wedding photography company will not bring in as much money for you (or be as enjoyable for you) as working on your own, this is often a wise way to start, as you will be able to gain the experience and knowledge you will need in the long run. Once you finally do feel ready to start branching out on your own, another thing that will be important will be that you do not try to cut corners on the equipment you purchase; when it comes to the camera, the flash, the computer, and the software, invest your money wisely, and this will give you pictures that are a lot better, and will make you more money in the long run. And of course, you will need to know how to drum up some business before you will be able to start achieving success as a wedding photographer; invest a bit of time and money into learning how to successfully start your own business and reach new clients, as this will go a long way in ensuring continued success. You will end up either discovering that starting a wedding photography business is fun and lucrative, or that it is frustrating and costly, and whether or not you are taking the proper steps will determine which side of this you land on!

Tips For Avoiding Bad Neighbors On Your Website
When the topic of "bad neighbors" is brought up, you are likely to think about those people who live next door to you and play their music as loudly as possible late at night, or run their motorcycle in their driveway early in the morning, but when it comes to your website, there is such a thing as "bad neighbors" as well - and as annoying as those bad neighbors in real life can be, the bad neighbors of your website can hurt you a whole lot more, as it is search engines who determine what to do about your bad neighbors! Beyond the basic SEO factors that most people tend to focus on, there are a lot of more complicated things involved, and one of these things is the "neighbors" you are creating; search engines determine your neighbors to be those sites you are linking to, and (to a lesser extent) those sites that are linking to you, and this can actually have a much bigger impact on your search engine ranking than you might have realized. In order to avoid creating bad neighbors on your end, you will want to keep away from linking to any sites that are unrelated to yours (for instance: if you have a site that deals with car parts, do not link to a site that is centered around selling children's toys!), and you will want to avoid any sites that search engines are likely to view as disreputable - such as sites that contain malware, pop-ups, adult content, offensive content, gambling, or just about any other unsavory activity. Of course, it is easy enough to avoid linking to bad sites once you realize that this is important, but one thing that is more difficult (in fact, that can be practically impossible!) is making sure that negative sites are not linking to you! Of course, search engines do not give this a whole lot of weight, as you would then be able to create negative sites and use them to link to your competitors, thus dragging down their rankings, but search engines do give this a bit of weight - so in addition to making sure you are linking to good sites, make sure (as best you can!) that the sites linking to you are also good, and in this way you can ensure that you have good online neighbors.

A Look At Simple SEO Tricks You Can Apply Right Away
When you are are trying to boost the amount of traffic that is coming your way on your website, you will probably be looking to take advantage of all the great things you can do with search engine optimization - but one issue with applying search engine optimization to a website that is already up and running (and in fact, one thing that can cause people to never end up applying SEO to their website at all!) is the fact that it can sometimes take a little while for the SEO tricks you are applying to make a difference, and because of this, it is valuable to know a few SEO tricks you can apply right away, for quicker results. One reason many people feel the SEO tricks they are trying are not working is because they are not getting enough clicks on their links, even when their links are high in search engine rankings; in order to prevent this from being the case for you, make sure you use the titles of your posts in such a way that they will implore people to click on them, as this will help you to get a lot more people to visit your website. You will also want to start deciding before you add new content what keywords you want to focus on - and then, as you write the article, you will want to apply these keywords as often as possible; rather than just putting random content on your site with no strategy behind it, you can do a lot more if you make sure that your content is both focused and rich with keywords.
And if you want to increase traffic on your website, one of the best ways to do so - not just because it will help you to climb higher in search engine rankings, but also because it will generate more traffic on its own - is to get others to link to your site from their websites; this will create more people who know that your site exists, and will help you to climb higher in search engine rankings. As you work to improve the visibility of your website, keep all these tips in mind, and you will soon achieve a lot more success with your website than you were achieving before!

How To Work A Job You Enjoy
One problem a lot of people face is that they spend 40 hours a week working at a job that they do not actually enjoy, and even though this job perhaps enables them to do other things they enjoy, they often feel that it is not worth it for the amount of time they are spending; while it may not be possible to simply switch to a job that you absolutely love, it is certainly possible to switch to a job that you enjoy more – and to keep your eyes open for that job that you absolutely love in the meantime! Figuring out where your priorities are is the first thing you should do to find a job you enjoy; for some people, the most important thing to do is to make good money, and they are fine working a job they do not truly enjoy in order to make this dream a reality. Others, on the other hand, find that it is more worthwhile to work a truly enjoyable job, even if it pays less money, as they are able to go to work each day excited rather than dreading the day ahead of them. A lot of people also imagine that if they worked for their own self, work would be a lot better, and while this is sometimes true, it can also be absolutely untrue; if you truly dream of owning a small business, one thing you should realize is that you will often make less money than you would at another job – at least, this will be the case as you get your business off the ground – and what's more, it will actually be a whole lot more work! The extra work and the decrease in pay will be well worth it if you are truly passionate about owning your own business; but if you would rather have more time off, or make more money, you might be better to stay in your own job! And a lot of people allow themselves to remain stuck in a job they hate until they find that dream job, which is a big mistake; if you hate your job, realized that there is always a better job out there, and it is well worth taking the time to switch jobs – even if you have not yet found that job you absolutely love!

Writing A Winning Job Resume
Your job resume will be the first part of you that a prospective employer will ever see. In this age of depressed economy and higher unemployment, you are likely to be competing against more applicants for any job. Because of this, it is important that you understand how to make your job resume stand out. The method of "listing your previous jobs and hoping for the best" used to work just fine. But you will be limiting yourself if you take this approach these days. Instead, you should write a resume that causes a prospective employer to feel like they have to call you; you can do this by learning to make your resume stand out. When writing your resume, it is extremely important to consider its design. Considering the prospective employer's perspective will help you understand why this is an important place to begin when writing your resume. The person reading your resume has likely been at their desk for hours, poring over a huge pile of resumes. According to studies, each resume gets about 15-20 seconds of attention the first time through the pile. You will not make tired eyes feel kind toward you if you fill the resume with small font and big, blockish paragraphs. Instead, design your resume with clear headings and lots of white space on the paper. In this way, tired eyes are likely to feel pleased when your resume comes to the top; who knows, they may even spend more than 15-20 seconds on it during their first glance! The next thing to consider is the qualifications and accomplishments section, which will go a long way in setting you apart from other applicants. Never fabricate this section, but make sure you dig deep to uncover things that might not have popped into your mind right away. Think about everything that might lead a prospective employer to pick up the phone and give you a call, and include all of it in this section! Finally, the section of your resume where you list your qualifications will be a big selling point. In this section, you should aim to set yourself far above the others who might be applying. Think of this section as an advertisement, where you tell the prospective employer all the reasons why they should "buy" you. Although searching for a job can be frightening in these uncertain times, knowing the steps to a winning resume can make it a whole lot easier.

Timing Your Request For A Raise
With the state of the economy being what it is at present, many people are in a position where they feel that it would sure be nice if they could get a raise at their job - but at the same time, many of these same people are in a position where they are nervous about asking for a raise, lest this request cause their superiors at their job to look at them in a negative light. In all actuality, it is true that management expects their employees to seek raises - and this is not at all an offensive request when the employee in question has been doing a great job at work - but even once you realize that this is the truth of the matter, it will still be important that you understand how to time your request for a raise correctly, in order to maximize the end results. Waiting for your annual performance review is the best way to ask for a raise; if you have been doing an excellent job at work, you can go into the performance review knowing that it is likely you will be commended for the hard work you have done; when the performance review begins to wrap up, be prepared to present your case for a raise - not only letting your boss know that you would like a raise, but also letting them know how much you feel you deserve. On the other hand, if there is not a performance review upcoming for you, or if you work at a company that does not conduct regular performance reviews, figuring out the right time to ask for a raise can be a bit more difficult. The main thing you should realize is that you should request a raise when you are in the setting of a formal meeting; with no performance review looming on the horizon, you should request a meeting with your boss, and in this meeting you can present a clear case as to why you deserve the raise you are requesting. And one mistake many people make is that they are afraid to ask for a raise - but once you get past the fear of asking for a raise, you will also need to keep yourself poignantly aware of the fact that there is a right time and a wrong time to ask for a raise, and if you realize you are approaching this at a "wrong time," you should be ready to bail and wait for another opportunity!

How To Get Started With Online Investing
Regardless of whether you have been investing for a long time and simply want to do something new by investing online, or are a brand-new investor who is just starting out in the stock market, you are likely to start your online investing in the same place - and in order to get the most out of your online investing experience, there are a few things that will be important for you to know. There will be a lot to wade through when it comes to choices for online investing firms, and before you make your decision of who you will go with, you will need to compare all of these - taking a look at the commission they charge, the tools they offer, and the experiences their customers have had; typically, you will have more in the way of investing tools and expert advice from a service that charges a higher commission, but there are actually some highly rated sites but have low commissions, so take the time to look around and find the fit is right for you! Once you have selected the brokerage firm that you feel will be the best fit for you, you will then need to fill out a basic application on their website; this application will pretty much just require your personal information, and should be a fairly easy process to go through. After these steps are all taken care of, you can move onto figuring out how much you want to start out with for your first wave of investing; every brokerage will have a different minimum that you must invest, but of course, your best bet would probably be to start out with a little bit more than what this minimum is, while also making sure that you are using an amount you feel comfortable risking. And finally, the final step will be taking the time to do some research and study before you begin investing; this is the most important step of all when it comes to investing, as you are unlikely to achieve success with your investments if you have not done your research, so take the time to research, and then start investing well and enjoying the results!

How To Be Successful At The Trade Show
You are going to be participating in a trade show, and now you just need to know everything you need to be successful. While this might seem overwhelming, it can actually become very simple. If you understand this basic element of trade show success, you will have a valuable and enjoyable experience. What is this one element, this one thing you need to know in order to be successful? The one principle is actually really simple: At a trade show, regardless of what you are supposedly selling, you are actually selling YOU. That's right - you're selling you, so make sure you know how to do this. The act of selling yourself begins even before you arrive at the trade show. You have to make sure that you are feeling confident, and you have to also make sure you are dressed in such a manner that others will feel confident in you. If you look sloppy, people will assume that your business is sloppy also. Make sure you will make the impression you want to make; double-check everything! Remember when you arrive at the trade show that people need to buy you before they will buy your product. Everyone is someone; this is important to remember, because this is the case whether the person looks like someone or not. Keep on smiling, and make sure you look approachable, as if you are eager to talk. You never know who that next big customer or client will be, so treat every single person as though it might be them. Remain engaged when you talk to people. Keep smiling while you talk to hem; maintain eye contact; make sure they feel like you care about them and what they are saying. As you talk to them, bring the conversation to areas of common ground. People always feel more comfortable in territory they know, so lead the conversation to common points of interest. Finally, remember that you are the entire company as far as anyone at the trade show is concerned. You have to treat people in a manner that takes this thought into account; by doing so, you will be on your way to success. Just remember that the trade show is all about the people, and to the people it is all about you; if you remember this, the entire event becomes far less daunting. Give them something that makes them feel comfortable with and confident in you, and they will feel comfortable with and confident in your business.

Exploring SEO: Hiring Out Versus Going It Alone

Of course, in the end, it does not so much matter how you get to the desired end result (that is, a website that ranks highly on search engines) as that you get there somehow - but with this knowledge, you can decide whether you want to get there on your own or hire someone else to help.

A Look At Some Of The Best Ways To Generate Web Traffic
If you have a website, one thing you understand is that traffic is the biggest key of all to achieving success; after all, when you have a lot of traffic, your opportunities for making sales and making money are huge - but when you have very little traffic, your ability to turn profit from your website will be severely limited. Because of this fact, anyone who runs a website should make sure they understand some of the core components of bringing traffic their way. The first thing you need to realize is that you will need to work on your on-site search engine optimization - which means optimizing the keywords and the tags on your site so that you are showing search engines what you want them to see. When you do a good job of this, you will have strong appeal to search engines, and will be able to show them exactly how you are wanting them to rank you. In addition to optimizing your site for search engines in order to make it easier for them to look at your site, you will need to get away from your site to start stirring up backlinks. These are the links from other sites that point reader back to yours - and the more backlinks you have (and the more highly-ranked the sites from which these backlinks come), the more quickly you will see your traffic numbers and your search engine rank rising! And finally, you need to start becoming active on other websites, away from yours, as well. This means you should try to leave comments on blogs, and should try to participate in forums, as doing so will help create more awareness about your site, and will make it easier for you to bring traffic your way! In all, creating traffic on your website (and making the money that comes with this) is a process - but when you take the right steps along the road for this process, you will increase your chances of achieving success with your website, and of making the sort of money with your site you hope to make!

Is Dilbert Bad For My Employees' Morale?
As a member of the business world, you are surely familiar with the Dilbert cartoon strip, and as a boss you probably even think a lot of the Dilbert strips are funny. After all, these cartoons are not making fun of you, right? But then again, when you start to see Dilbert strips tacked up on your employees' cubicle walls, it is easy to start second-guessing this self-assuredness. Of course, at first, it feels like you are just being overly paranoid to think that a cartoon strip could have any effect on the morale of your employees, but it is also difficult to shed from your mind those articles that talked about how Dilbert actually can have a negative effect on employees. And so the question becomes, are Dilbert cartoons bad for employee morale? First off all, one must remember that humor and laughter is good for morale. Certainly, the fact that these strips caused your employees to laugh is a positive sign. The issue, of course, is that many of these cartoons induce laughs by poking fun at corporate culture. And it is difficult to keep your own self out of the specifics of this discussion when you see a cartoon on an employee's wall that makes fun of the boss. But the solution to the problem might be more complicated than just banning these comic strips. After all, it is unlikely that banning these strips would have any effect except to make employees think that you are out of touch with the way they feel. Don't just order that all comic strips be taken down from office walls; instead, you ought to take the time to look at these comic strips yourself. The reason many of these strips are thought to be funny is because they make fun of the things that are wrong with corporate culture; if your employees think these strips are so funny, there is a chance that the problem does not lie with the comic strip itself. The problem might be with the way your company itself is run! While some might think it is trivial to turn Dilbert into a topic of serious discussion, many businesses have, in fact, banned these cartoons from cubicle walls. If you are wanting to improve morale around your office, do not alienate employees by acting in this manner; instead, take a look at the way your business is run, and aim to improve morale by improving your business!

Examining Three Places To Target Keywords In SEO
A lot of people who are wanting to build their website (and, as a result, their business) through search engine optimization understand that keywords are an important part of boosting their search engine ranking, but they spend very little subsequent time finding out exactly what this means; because of this, they end up packing lots of keywords into their text wherever they can, and they fail to realize that search engine optimization - especially when it comes to keywords - is a bit more nuanced than this approach takes into account. First of all, understand that placing your keyword in the content of your site will be an important part of achieving success through search engine optimization, but this does not mean that you want to simply throw keywords in any chance you get; pick out a primary keyword you want to focus on throughout your site, and try to use it two or three times in each new piece of content you create - then let the rest of the secondary keywords take care of themselves from there. Also, you should be aware of the fact that your content is not the only place where you should aim to optimize your use of keywords; on your site, you should also aim to target your keyword in your title tag, your meta description tags, your image tags, and even (if at all possible) your URL.
And finally, remember that backlinks (that is, the links from another site that point to your site) are a big part of search engine optimization, and these backlinks will be far more valuable to you if the anchor text includes your primary keyword; wherever you have control over the backlinks for your site (either through a link exchange, or through social media, or through an off-site article you have written that includes a link to your site), make sure the anchor text keeps your primary keyword in mind. The more time you spend search engine optimizing your website, the more success you will have - and the more you understand about search engine optimization before you get started, the more quickly this success will come your way!

In addition to optimizing your site for search engines so that it is easier for them to look at your site, you will need to get away from your site to start stirring up backlinks. Using YouTube To Promote Your Business
Anyone who owns a small business has certainly spent time cooking up marketing schemes, and has probably realized that YouTube might be a nice area to explore. And while it is true that YouTube can be a great way to promote your business, it can also be a poor way to promote your business! Before you take the time to try to launch a YouTube campaign for your business, you need to recognize what you need to do for the campaign to go well. One of the first things you should do if you want to market using YouTube is create a channel that is specific to your business. This will allow people to subscribe to your channel, which will go a long way in helping you, as it will allow people to become more and more familiar with you.
Next, you need to figure out what other businesses similar to yours have done on YouTube to be successful and promote themselves well. And here's a hint: If a business has videos with lots of hits on them, these are the businesses that have done well promoting themselves on YouTube! You certainly do not want to copy anything they themselves have done, but you can borrow inspiration and ideas from them as much as you would like. Of course, in order for a video of yours to "go viral," you also have to make sure you create something worth spreading around! The beauty of YouTube is that it enables others to do the work for you, spreading the video around; you cannot just have someone standing there and talking to the screen - you need something that catches the eye. If you let people make the videos for you, you will find that this is the best way to get others to help you spread the word about your business! Depending on the sort of small business you own, you can host a contest where people make a video promoting your products, and the best video wins a certain, high-priced item for free! This will help you spread the word about your business and your products much quicker than you could spread the word all by yourself. For the savvy marketeer, YouTube is an absolute goldmine; once you figure out the best way to implement YouTube yourself, you can watch as your business soars!

How To Conduct Great Giveaways For Your Business
One of the best ways for you to gain extra customers for your business is by conducting giveaways, as giveaways will give you the opportunity to sacrifice a small amount of inventory or time for a lot of extra exposure; before you try doing a giveaway for your business, however, it will be important that you pay attention to a few things that will go into making this giveaway successful. When putting together a giveaway, one of the biggest mistakes businesses tend to make is that they give away something that is easy or convenient for them, rather than trying to come up with something customers will actually want; instead of giving away something that will stir up no desire in the hearts of customers and potential customers, you should view the giveaway as an investment, or as advertising, and expand your budget accordingly to give customers something they will want. Another key to making your giveaway successful will be doing a giveaway that calls on your customers to participate, but realize that this does not mean you need to make their participation difficult; when doing a giveaway, always aim to make the participation aspect fun and easy, as this will make it much more likely that people will take time and effort to participate in the contest. And finally, realize that getting people to help you spread the word about the contest itself will be one of the biggest keys of all to making the giveaway successful, and you will need to make sure you are taking the right steps in order to cause this to happen; the best way to get people to spread the word about a contest is to make this part of the contest itself, where entries are given into the contest for using social media (or other means) to let people know about the contest itself! When you run a contest for your business by taking these steps, you will find that lots of new customers are coming your way, and that the inventory and time spent on these contests are absolutely worth it!

How To Use Twitter To Increase Your Business Presence
It seems that Twitter is everywhere nowadays - in the news, on the Internet, and even in casual conversation; what's more, we seem to hear whispers of all the ways Twitter can help us improve our business, but many of us - as hard as we try - cannot quite comprehend how using Twitter will help us grow our business. Of course, it's not like the concept of Twitter is all that difficult to grasp - after all, the site is really nothing more than short messages of 140 characters or less (a lot like a facebook status update, but with fewer characters), but the problem is more that it is difficult to understand the right way to use Twitter in order to make it a good tool for business. When you are attempting to use Twitter in order to promote your business, one of the big mistakes you will want to avoid is using this tool strictly to promote your business; while this seems like it would be the natural thing to do (after all, if you're there to promote your business, you might as well do so), it can actually be extremely counter-productive, as most regular users of Twitter use the site as an escape from the drudgery of their workday responsibilities - and one of the things they are least likely to do is follow a company whose tweets contain nothing but business-specific information on products and tools and other business-related things! Instead, you should make it your goal to also mix in items that will entertain your followers, or will otherwise create enjoyment for them - for instance, tweeting trivia questions about your business, or profiling a specific employee, and (with permission, of course) tweeting trivia information about them - and you can even consider using Twitter to give products away for free to your followers.

Resolving Conflicts In A Family Business
The idea that trying to separate "work life" from "family life" can be difficult causes many of people to advise you to never work with family, but if you are already involved in a family business, this advice does not do much to help you; instead, you should acknowledge that conflicts are inevitable in any form of business - and when it comes to participating in business with your family, it is essential that you know how to resolve these conflicts, as they will otherwise be able to injure relationships in both work and family. The best way to resolve conflicts within the confines of a family business is by having a structured plan in place that you can follow whenever you run into conflicts; you need to wait until a time when no conflicts are occurring in order to come up with this plan, as this will enable everyone to give their input into the process without a current issue getting in the way. If the conflict that you have run into is about something that is minor and interpersonal, the two people involved should work it out between themselves whenever this is possible, avoiding the need for mediation from someone else in the family or business; for such conflicts, a designated room or area should be set aside for the two involved in the conflict to have their discussion, as this will allow the rest of the work space to remain a peaceful environment that is conducive to work while the two in conflict resolve their issue. On the other hand, if the issue in question deals with the entire company or family, having a process that will allow both sides of the argument to be heard by everyone will be useful, after which everyone in the family can vote on the issue to complete the resolution. Once these processes have been agreed-upon and put in place, it will be easy to follow these processes in order to resolve conflicts at work, and to do so without allowing these conflicts to trickle over into your regular family life.

Three Ways To Increase Your Online Presence
One thing that will be extremely important if you have a business of your own will be that you are able to get the most out of all the great benefits offered by the Internet; after all, the Internet can be a great way for you to connect with your current customers, and can be a great way for you to gain new customers without spending a dime on advertising, but if you are not taking the proper steps to get the most out of your online presence, you will fail to capitalize on all the benefits the Internet has to offer! The first thing you will want to do in order to make the most out of the Internet for your business is make sure you have a website; if you already have a website for your business, this might seem like an elementary need, but there are many small businesses out there wondering why they are not succeeding, and they have not even taken the time to build a website! After the website for your business has been set up, you will want to make sure you are not just blindly adding content to this site, but are instead taking the time to learn as much as you can about the principles of search engine optimization, and are using these principles in order to ensure that you are showing up highly in search engine searches - as this will go a long way in helping you to gain new customers through the Internet. And finally, make sure you understand the fact that social media (that is, such tools as Twitter, facebook, and LinkedIn) will be hugely beneficial in allowing you to connect with your customers and your potential customers; create an active presence on these sites, and you will be able to enjoy all the benefits that come as a result! When it comes to building a successful business, there will be a lot of things that go into this, but when you take these steps to get the most out of the Internet, you will be a whole lot closer to achieving that success you desire!

In all actuality, it is true that management expects their employees to seek raises - and when the employee in question has been doing a great job at work, this is not at all an offensive request - but even once you realize that this is the truth of the matter, it will still be important that you understand how to time your request for a raise correctly, in order to maximize the end results. Waiting for your annual performance review is the best way to ask for a raise; you can go into the performance review, if you have been doing an excellent job at work, knowing that it is likely you will be commended for the hard work you have done; when the performance review begins to wrap up, be prepared to present your case for a raise - not only letting your boss know that you would like a raise, but also letting them know how much you feel you deserve. If, on the other hand, there is no performance review upcoming for you, or if you work at a company that does not conduct regular performance reviews, it can be a bit more difficult to figure out the right time to ask for a raise. The main thing for you to make sure you realize is that you should request a raise when you are in the setting of a formal meeting; if you do not have a performance review looming on the horizon, you should request a meeting with your boss, and in this meeting you can present a clear case as to why you deserve the raise you are requesting. And one mistake a lot of people tend to make is that they are afraid to ask for a raise - but once you get past the fear of asking for a raise, you will also need to keep yourself poignantly aware of the fact that there is a right time and a wrong time to ask for a raise, and if you realize you are approaching this at a "wrong time," you should be ready to bail and wait for another opportunity!

Tips For Finding Items You Can Buy And Sell For More Money
If you are looking for ways to make extra money - or even if you are looking for a creative way to eventually make a full-time living - one idea to consider is finding items that you can buy and sell for profit; with the great reach provided to each and every person by the Internet, it is quite easy these days to find a way to sell the things you have, which means that the main thing you will need to figure out is exactly where you should go to buy these things that you can resell. Garage sales are a great place to look for things that you can resell for more money - and are perhaps the best place of all for really excellent deals; on Saturday mornings, go out and peruse the items for sale at different garage sales, and you will be surprised at how much good stuff you find - but make sure that you also go in with an idea of what it is you are looking for, lest you end up with a whole bunch of stuff you do not really need, and are not really able to sell! Along the same lines as garage sales is estate sales, and while you will not find nearly the deals at estate sales that you would at garage sales, you will be able to find some really top-notch stuff; always keep your eyes open for different estate sales that are going to be taking place near where you live, and look for items that you feel will be easy to sell (and easy to ship!) so that you can quickly turn a profit. And even though items at antique stores will run you more money than you would have to pay at a garage sale or an estate sale, you can also find some real treasures here when shopping correctly; visit antique stores and get a sense for what they are carrying, then head online to find which of these you might be able to sell for more money on your own. A lot of times, people sell things at a low price simply because they need to get rid of these things - and this is the perfect opportunity for you to swoop in and buy this item yourself, before turning around and selling it for a profit!

Is Dilbert Bad For My Employees' Morale?
We all are familiar with Dilbert cartoons, and even as a boss you probably think that a lot of the cartoons are pretty darn funny. After all, these cartoons are not making fun of you, right? But then again, it is easy to second-guess this sentiment when you start to see Dilbert cartoons tacked up on the cubicle walls of your employees. Even though it might seem silly or paranoid to consider that Dilbert has any effect on morale, it is also difficult to push from your mind those articles you read that, you know, said that Dilbert actually does have a negative impact on employee morale. And so, you finally face the question yourself: Are these cartoons negatively affecting employee morale? First off all, one must remember that humor and laughter is good for morale. Certainly, the fact that these strips caused your employees to laugh is a positive sign. But the issue, of course, is the fact that most of these laughs are induced by taking jabs at corporate culture. And it is difficult to keep your own self out of the specifics of this discussion when you see a cartoon on an employee's wall that makes fun of the boss. But before you jump to conclusions and ban these cartoons from the walls of cubicles, consider whether the solution is so simple. After all, it is unlikely that banning these strips would have any effect except to make employees think that you are out of touch with the way they feel. A better form of action is to look at the strips yourself instead of ordering that they all be taken down from walls in the office. Many of these strips are funny because they poke fun at the way businesses are run; if your employees think that these strips are applicable enough to be tacked on their cubicle wall, the problem might not be with the strip itself. The problem might be with the way your company itself is run! Many businesses actually have banned Dilbert from cubicle walls, which turns this into a serious discussion even if it seems trivial on the surface. Every boss wants to improve morale around the office, but instead of banning humor and hoping it will do anything but alienate employees, you should aim to improve employee morale by improving all the ways in which your business itself is run!

Tips For Avoiding Bad Neighbors On Your Website
When you hear the term "bad neighbors," you are likely to think about those people who live next door to you and play their music as loudly as possible late at night, or run their motorcycle in their driveway early in the morning, but when it comes to your website, there is such a thing as "bad neighbors" as well - and as annoying as those bad neighbors in real life can be, the bad neighbors of your website can hurt you a whole lot more, as it is search engines who determine what to do about your bad neighbors! Beyond the basic SEO factors that most people know about, there are a lot of more complicated things involved, and one of these things is the "neighbors" you are creating; search engines determine your neighbors to be those sites you are linking to, and (to a lesser extent) those sites that are linking to you, and this can actually have a much bigger impact on your search engine ranking than you might have realized. If you want to keep from creating bad neighbors, it will be important that you stay away from linking to any sites that are unrelated to yours (for instance: if you have a site that deals with car parts, do not link to a site that is centered around selling children's toys!), and you will want to avoid any sites that search engines are likely to view as disreputable - such as sites that contain malware, pop-ups, adult content, offensive content, gambling, or just about any other unsavory activity. Of course, avoiding linking to bad sites is easy enough once you realize that this is important, but one thing that is more difficult (in fact, that can be practically impossible!) is making sure that negative sites are not linking to you!
