The quest for the perfect marketing approach begins by recognizing that consumers purchase a product to either satisfy a need, solve a problem, or make themselves feel good. You need to know why your specific, target market is going to be purchasing your product before you can advertise it effectively. The next step in targeting your target market effectively is this: learn how to break your target market down into smaller pieces, instead of looking at the whole.
